The ATO has recently added a new security requirement for clients to ensure only their registered tax agent can access their online tax information. Effective from 13 November 2023, this change will mean; when switching accountants, you will need to authorize them on your ATO Online Services for Business account.
Below is a list of steps to take so you can authorize your accountant to access your information online.
You will need the myGovID app installed and set up on your phone. If you haven't already done this, click here for instructions.
Link your myGovID to your businesses ABN. Once you have set up your myGovID app, log into the Relationship Authorization Manager website to link your business. Click here for the RAM website.
Once your ABN has been linked, you can use your myGovID to login to Online Services for Business by clicking here.
Select Profile/Agent Details then select "Add" under Agent Nominations. You can search for Beda with the Tax Agent Number 2545 8447. Once you have selected us, complete the declaration and press submit.
The last step is to notify us of your nomination as the ATO does not do this automatically. We will have 28 days to action the nomination before it expires.
