Unfortunately for families, the superannuation contributions will not apply until 1 July 2025, however in the long run this will be beneficial to parents to ensure they don't fall behind with their super balances. The rate of superannuation from 1 July 2025 will be 12%.
This announcement coincides with the Government's plan to increase the length of paid parental leave to six months by July 2026.
